La Beauté Louis Vuitton: Louis Vuitton enters the makeup universe

Louis Vuitton expands its creative universe with La Beauté Louis Vuitton, a new proposal that transfers the maison’s codes to the realm of makeup. The French house thus incorporates a category conceived with the same attention to design, color, materials and the object that characterizes its fashion, leather goods, fragrance and accessories collections.

The project is under the creative direction of Pat McGrath, one of the most influential figures in contemporary beauty. Her involvement places the initiative in a dialogue between the editorial and artistic experience of the British makeup artist and Louis Vuitton’s legacy, whose relationship with travel, craftsmanship and the creation of enduring objects is an essential part of its identity.

The collection is organized around products for the lips and eyes. The LV Rouge line brings together 55 lipstick shades, a number linked to the year of the house’s founding, while LV Baume offers ten tinted lip balms. Added to this is LV Ombres, a selection of eight eyeshadow palettes that explore different chromatic harmonies, from more natural tones to more intense combinations.

Color occupies a central place in this first foray of Louis Vuitton into makeup. Far from being conceived as an isolated accessory, La Beauté Louis Vuitton presents itself as an extension of its aesthetic language: tones designed to build a personal expression and formats developed with a clearly object-focused intent. The proposal also includes refillable options, in line with an approach aimed at extending the lifespan of the compacts.

The packaging design was developed by Konstantin Grcic. The German industrial designer has created a precise, pared-back architecture that avoids excessive ornamentation and gives prominence to functionality, metallic finishes and proportions. The cases for lipsticks, balms and palettes respond to a vision of beauty as an everyday object, but also as a piece of design.

The arrival of La Beauté Louis Vuitton reinforces the maison’s expansion into new expressions of contemporary luxury. Under Pat McGrath’s eye, the house proposes a cosmetic universe in which makeup, perfumery, design and savoir‑faire come together to bring its particular idea of elegance to the ritual of beauty.
