Royal Mansour Casablanca, the rebirth of an urban icon

Royal Mansour Casablanca embodies the renaissance of a historic address that has formed part of the city’s cultural imagination since the mid twentieth century. Conceived as an urban palace devoted to the art de vivre, the hotel revives the heritage of a 1953 icon and integrates it into a new chapter defined by excellence, craftsmanship, and a form of hospitality deeply rooted in Casablanca’s identity.

Originally inaugurated in 1953 as the city’s first five star hotel, the building served for decades as a meeting point for cultural, political, and artistic figures. In 2024, the reopening of the hotel at 27 Avenue des Forces Armées Royales restores a fully reinterpreted landmark to the city. The project preserves the original modernist silhouette, respecting its patrimonial value, while introducing a contemporary vision of urban luxury.

The new Royal Mansour Casablanca takes shape as a vertical palace of more than 23 floors, housing 149 rooms and suites, four dining concepts, an expansive spa, a conference center, and a ballroom designed for major occasions. This rich program reflects the ambition to create a hotel that functions as a true destination, engaging both international travelers and the city’s social life.

The aesthetic approach strikes a balance between memory and innovation. Interior design revisits the Art Deco language emblematic of twentieth century Casablanca, reinterpreted through marble, fine woods, and brass, alongside a curated selection of more than 600 works of contemporary art. The lobby stands out, crowned by a monumental installation by designer Charles Kalpakian representing a stylized map of the city, reinforcing the bond between the hotel and its urban context.

Public spaces are conceived as areas of transition and encounter. An inner courtyard designed as an Andalusian garden introduces a moment of calm within the metropolitan rhythm. A glass footbridge suspended on the 23rd floor connects the building’s two towers, symbolizing the dialogue between past and present that defines the entire project.

In terms of accommodation, rooms and suites range from 45 to 130 square meters, with layouts designed for extended comfort. Interiors combine geometric elegance with advanced functionality, featuring marble bathrooms with underfloor heating, generous dressing areas, and discreetly integrated technology. Signature Suites on the upper floors elevate the experience further, with duplex and triplex layouts, cultural themes, and panoramic views over the city, the Atlantic, and the Hassan II Mosque.

Gastronomy plays a central role in the Royal Mansour Casablanca experience. Four internationally renowned chefs lead a diverse culinary offering that spans multiple traditions. From reimagined Moroccan haute cuisine to a French brasserie, a Japanese inspired sushi bar, and a Mediterranean rooftop concept, the hotel positions itself as a new culinary hub with a strong focus on local produce and technical mastery.

Wellness unfolds across a spa of more than 2,500 square meters spread over several floors, where the traditional hammam coexists with cutting edge treatments and specialized international brands. An indoor pool beneath a vast glass roof enhances the feeling of an urban retreat, while the fitness center and barber lounge extend the offering toward holistic care.

The Royal Mansour Casablanca is also designed as a platform for professional events and private celebrations. Its conference facilities include modular meeting rooms, a grand ballroom accommodating up to 450 guests, and private hanging gardens, reaffirming the hotel as one of Morocco’s leading venues for corporate gatherings.

Beyond its physical attributes, the hotel expresses a clear vision of service that is precise, discreet, and highly personalized, shaped by the internal training of its teams. This philosophy reinforces the identity of the Royal Mansour collection, where each property is conceived as a cultural extension of its city.

The reopening of the Royal Mansour Casablanca coincides with a period of urban and cultural transformation, as the city asserts itself as a modern metropolis while honoring its past. Within this context, the hotel acts as a symbolic catalyst, reclaiming an architectural icon and projecting it toward the future of urban luxury.
